Cold River's Sun Wukong has once again rewritten the history books. In May 2026, Sun Wukong and his littermate brother became the first dogs in history to pull an incredible 22,039 pounds, setting a new world record and earning the title of "Strongest Dogs in the World.

Previously, Sun Wukong set the UPF Most Weight Pulled World Record at 16,917 pounds (2025), becoming the first Boerboel in history to move that much weight and earning the title of "World's Strongest Boerboel" and "The Mover of Mountains."

Although still a young dog, Sun Wukong has already accomplished what many dogs never will and continues to develop into an exceptional representative of the breed.

 

Registered with AKC, UKC, and ADBA, Sun made history as the first Boerboel ever to become an ADBA National Champion (2024). Sun Wukong became the first Boerboel in history to win an ADBA National Championship and the first Boerboel to earn the Most Weight Pulled title at an ADBA National Championship  also became the first Boerboel ever earn the prestigious "ACE" title by the American Dog Breeders Association (ADBA).

 

With multiple historic accomplishments already to his name and plenty of maturity still ahead of him, Sun Wukong continues to prove why he is regarded as one of the most accomplished performance Boerboels of all time.

Cold River's "Mr. Wednesday" is the littermate brother to Sun Wukong and a standout performer in his own right. Standing an impressive 29 inches at the shoulder, Mr. Wednesday combines size, athleticism, and structure in a way that challenges the common belief that giant dogs cannot excel as working athletes. With a strong topline, balanced angulation, and powerful movement, he represents the complete package.

 

In May 2026, Mr. Wednesday made history alongside his brother at the Bully Max UPF-sanctioned event by pulling an astonishing 22,039 pounds, becoming one of the first dogs ever to achieve this feat and helping set a new world record. Both brothers successfully moved the exact same 22,039-pound weight, establishing the same world-record mark and cementing their place in canine performance history.

In 2026, Mr. Wednesday became the Boerboel Expo winner, earning Boerboel Expo Dog of the Day. He also became a SABBS Grand Champion. At the Boerboel Expo, he was appraised at 92.3, placing him among the highest appraised living Boerboels in the world. Following that win, he was named the official ambassador of the 2027 Boerboel Expo, representing the strength, structure, and breed standard across Boerboel Expo platforms for the coming year.

Affectionately known around Cold River as "Sun's Big Brother" because of his large frame, Mr. Wednesday continues to prove that size and performance are not mutually exclusive. His success on the track has become a testament to the athletic potential of properly conditioned, structurally sound Boerboels.

 

With his ACE title now within reach and his career still in its early stages, we are excited to see what the future holds for Mr. Wednesday as he continues to break stereotypes, set new standards, and follow a path that is uniquely his own.
